What is Hypnobirthing?
Hypnobirthing is a method of managing pain and anxiety during childbirth, involving various therapeutic relaxation techniques, such as deep breathing and visualisation.
KGHypnobirthing is a complete antenatal education class that will teach you how to be fully in tune with your body and mind during pregnancy, and most importantly during labour. It will teach you simple breathing and relaxation techniques that put you in control of your mind and body, leading to a more comfortable, sometimes even pain free, wonderful birth experience for you and your baby. It will help you to release any fears you may have, enabling you to approach the birth with positivity and fully informed. KGHypnobirthing techniques work very effectively with whatever birth you are planning, whether that’s a home birth, a water birth, a hospital birth or birth centre experience. A KGHypnobirthing class goes into greater detail than you will get from other antenatal classes, and with myself and Kathryn teaching you, be assured that we will be able to guide you every step of the way looking at your overall physical and mental health and nutritional status as well, should you have any concerns.
The journey so far…
I trained in KGHypnobirthing in 2020 with Katharine Graves – founder of KGHypnobirthing. My Natural Health journey began with Katharine back in 2002 when I trained for a year with her in Touch for Health, and so it feels like I’ve come full circle to train with her again in the incredible global concept that is KGHypnobirthing.
I qualified in Kinesiology in 2005 and since then have been running a busy, successful Natural Health Clinic both from home and online, working with hundreds of clients each year both locally and across the world. I have an interest in women’s health, especially emotional health, hormonal health and fertility issues.
Learn from the experts…
I am running the KGHypnobirthing courses with Independent Midwife Kathryn Weymouth, who I met at the birth of my daughter and who guided me through a natural labour and who I have been friends with ever since. Kathryn was also the midwife throughout my second pregnancy and birth of my son, and has over 20 years experience of supporting women to have natural births.
She continues to amaze me with her knowledge and passion for pregnancy and birth. Kathryn is also a trained KGH teacher and between us, we offer the perfect combination of skills and experience to ensure you have the best possible pregnancy and birth experience that you and your baby want and deserve.
A joyful & wonderful experience…
Having a baby is one of life’s most wonderful moments and the ability to create, nurture and give birth to a beautiful baby is a miracle in itself. We want pregnancy to be joyful and full of excitement as you look forward to bringing a beautiful baby into the world.
For some women however, fear of giving birth and how to avoid pain, is at the forefront of their minds throughout pregnancy.
Kathryn and I will work with you to help dispel this fear and to give you the tools and information to have the best possible chance of having a natural, calm and pain free birth. This will be done following the practises of KGH – a complete antenatal childbirth education course that emphasises natural childbirth and teaches simple but effective techniques to combat fear and pain during labour.
Kathryn and I will be with you every step of the way to guide you through the principles of KGHypnobirthing and to ensure that you have optimal physical and mental health throughout pregnancy.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are the benefits of hypnobirthing?
There are so many benefits to hypnobirthing. We can’t promise you a completely natural and pain free birth, although that is sometimes what happens, but we can promise to give you the tools to make sure that your birth experience is the most wonderful, calm and relaxed birth experience it can be. Additional benefits of using KGHypnobirthing is that mums regularly report back significantly reduced average length of labour times – due to working with and not against your body – plus far fewer medical interventions. Babies are often reported back to us as calm babies who feed and sleep well, probably because they experience less birth trauma than average babies, as their journeys into this world tend to be more calm, joyful and peaceful, just as nature intended. The effects of this could potentially last a lifetime! There is also benefits for the birthing partner as they become a central part of the birthing process rather than just a passive onlooker, which in itself is very good for immediate bonding with the newborn and for the strength of the family relationship. A KGHypnobirthing class goes into greater detail than you will get from other antenatal classes, designed for you so that you can look forward to the birth of your baby, feeling relaxed and fully informed about your birth choices and decisions.
Why choose Kathryn and I for your KGHypnobirthing experience?
Kathryn has been a Professional Midwife for over 20 years, and an Independent Midwife for the last 11 years, supporting women to have natural births, very often in their own homes. She is regularly recruited to work overseas and has been the midwife of choice at many births across Europe, the US and the Middle East. She has a vast amount of knowledge around all aspects of pregnancy and birth and is a calm, confident and reassuring presence throughout any pregnancy and birth. I have been running my own Natural Health Clinic for over 15 years and again I have worked with clients across the world to improve their physical and mental health and increase their happiness levels. I am able to bring many additional skills to your KGHypnobirthing course including nutritional advice, massage and acupressure points to relieve stress, pain and discomfort and additional relaxation and visualisation techniques should they be required. We are both happy to support you throughout your pregnancy journey and are more than happy to chat about attending your birth in a Midwife and Doula capacity, should this be desired.
When should I start a hypnobirthing course?
There is no right or wrong time to start a hypnobirthing course, but the earlier in pregnancy you begin the course, the more time you will have to practise the breathing and relaxation techniques that you will be given. Between 20 & 30 weeks of pregnancy is the most popular time for joining a course, but even in the late stages of pregnancy, it is still beneficial to train as it will mean you approach the impending birth feeling more calm, relaxed and confident. Please feel free to get in touch to discuss where you are in your pregnancy and when you think would be the best time to consider taking the course and we can let you know our availability.
How much does a course cost?
There are various course options available although at the moment the majority of our courses are taking place online. Small weekend group sessions on Zoom are currently being held monthly and cost £299.
We can also offer individual sessions for couples at a cost of £349 and are happy to offer socially distanced sessions from the comfort of your own home from £399 – please get in touch and we can confirm our availability.
Although KGHypnobirthing training is not cheap, you are learning skills that will last a lifetime and when you think how much you spend on a holiday or a new car for example, it really doesn’t seem that expensive.
Childbirth should be the most amazing and wondrous experience of your life so it really is worth investing into it to make it into the most wonderful, calm and relaxing it can possibly be.
